Mi-Life Victoria, a leader in disability support services is taking the lead on building capability and improving the lived experience of people with disabilities.

We had rewarding day yesterday providing staff training in using WalkinVR software and HTC Vive hardware to enable people with significant physical disabilities to experience mainstream virtual reality for entertainment, therapy, social inclusion and educational opportunities.

WalkinVR is a software driver. The software provides equity to people with mobility limitations.

It enables personalised modifications to PC based VR systems. The modifications allow the users to react in VR in a similar way as somebody without mobility limitations, providing a more equitable choice of experiences.

The outcomes include better access to entertainment and workplace training opportunities, along with greater diversity in therapy options

Thanks to Thomas Dexmier and the rest of the team at HTC Vive Australia for their support in getting this solution to market.
